These terms apply to all bookings for Podium Ski Ltd (“Podium”, “we”, “us”) training camps and coaching. By paying a deposit or booking fee you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and anyone you book for.
1. Who we are
Podium Ski Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08731694), contactable at training@podiumski.com. We have been running ski race training in the Alps since 2001.
2. What we provide
We provide ski race coaching. Unless a camp page expressly states otherwise, the camp fee covers coaching only. What is and is not included (lift passes, course fees, video analysis, etc.) is stated on the individual camp page, which forms part of your booking. Travel, accommodation, equipment and insurance are your responsibility unless expressly included.
Because we supply coaching as a single service and do not sell travel or accommodation packages, our camps are not package holidays under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.
3. Booking and payment
A booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit, paid through our booking platform (WeTravel) or by bank transfer. Prices are as shown on the camp page at the time of booking; we do not pass card processing fees on to you.
The balance is due by the date shown on your booking confirmation, normally 6 weeks before the camp start date. If you book within 6 weeks of the start date, the full fee is due at booking. If the balance is not paid by the due date we may treat the booking as cancelled by you and resell the place.
Some camps offer early bird pricing. The early bird price applies to bookings made (deposit paid) by the early bird deadline shown on the camp page, and is protected once secured.
Where a camp is sold with provisional dates, the final dates and pro-rated price will be confirmed as stated on the camp page; the early bird rate still applies.
4. Cancellation by you
- Cooling-off period: if you book as a consumer you may cancel within 14 days of booking for a full refund, including the deposit (unless the camp starts within that period and you have asked us to provide the service).
- After the cooling-off period, the deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another person.
- Each camp has a cancellation deadline, shown on the camp page or your booking confirmation (for example 1 September for an autumn camp). If you cancel on or before that deadline, everything you have paid beyond the deposit is refunded.
- If you cancel after the cancellation deadline, or do not attend, no refund is due. If we are able to resell your place we will refund what you have paid, less the deposit.
Cancellations must be sent by email to training@podiumski.com and take effect on the date we receive them. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.
5. Cancellation or changes by us
Our camps depend on snow conditions, venue availability and minimum group numbers.
- Minimum numbers: camps run subject to minimum group numbers. We will confirm whether your camp is running no later than 6 weeks before the start date. If we cancel a camp for minimum numbers you receive a full refund of everything you have paid to us. We recommend you do not book non-refundable travel or accommodation until we confirm the camp is running.
- Snow, weather and venue: if conditions make the planned venue unusable we will first try to move training to a comparable venue (our venues are chosen for snow reliability, and switching between them is an established part of how we operate). A venue change of this kind is not a cancellation and does not entitle you to a refund, though we will give as much notice as we can. If we cannot run the camp at all, we will offer a transfer to another camp or a full refund of fees paid to us.
- Our liability for cancellation is limited to the fees you have paid to us. We are not liable for travel, accommodation or other costs you incur, which is a further reason insurance with cancellation cover is required.
- Individual training days lost to weather or lift closures during a camp are at the resort’s discretion and are not refundable, though we will always try to rearrange training where possible.
6. Insurance (mandatory)
You must have insurance covering winter sports including race training (gate training on closed courses), medical treatment, mountain rescue and repatriation, valid for the full camp duration and country. We may ask for your policy details before the camp and may refuse participation without adequate cover, with no refund.
7. Fitness, ability and participation
Our camps have minimum ability requirements, stated on each camp page. You are responsible for ensuring you (or the athlete you book for) meet them and are fit to train. Coaches may adjust or restrict an athlete’s training, or withdraw an athlete from training, where they judge continued participation unsafe; no refund is due in that case. Tell us before the camp about any medical conditions, injuries or other matters that could affect safe participation.
8. Under-18s
Bookings for athletes under 18 must be made by a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on the athlete’s behalf. Parents/guardians are responsible for the athlete outside coached sessions unless otherwise agreed in writing (for example on supervised club camps).
9. Risk and liability
Ski racing and race training are physically demanding activities carried out at speed in a mountain environment, and carry inherent risk of injury even when properly supervised. By booking you confirm you understand and accept these inherent risks.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales. Subject to that, we are not liable for: losses caused by events outside our reasonable control; the acts or omissions of resorts, lift operators or other third parties; loss or damage to your equipment or belongings; or indirect losses such as travel and accommodation costs. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the fees you paid us for the camp concerned.
10. Your conduct
Athletes must follow coach instructions, resort rules and the FIS Code of Conduct on the hill. We may remove anyone whose behaviour endangers themselves or others, or seriously disrupts the group, without refund.
11. Photos and video
We record video for coaching analysis. We may also use photos and video from camps in our marketing (website, social media). If you don’t want yourself or your child to appear in marketing material, tell us in writing before the camp and we will exclude you.
12. General
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is found invalid the rest remain in force. If you have a complaint, contact us at training@podiumski.com during or promptly after the camp so we can put it right.
