Eurotest & CTT Dates 2026/27: When and Where to Take the Test

If you are hunting for Eurotest dates, the honest answer is that the calendar is published in stages, country by country, each autumn. This page explains how the calendar works, where the tests have been running, and what we know so far about the 2026/27 season. And if you are a British instructor, read to the end, because the test you actually need is probably a different one.

How the Eurotest calendar works

The Eurotest is officially called the Common Training Test (CTT) these days, and there is no single central calendar. Sessions are organised nationally: in France the training and test calendar is published by GEPAFO Montagne, with the first registration window typically opening in mid-October and closing in late November for tests that begin in December. A second registration window usually opens in February for the spring sessions.

When and where the tests run

Test sessions run right through the winter, from mid-December to late April. In the 2025/26 season the French sessions were held at Alpe d’Huez, Morzine, Les Menuires, Saint-Lary-Soulan, Serre Chevalier, Auron and Val Thorens. Other member countries host their own sessions, with Pila in Italy among the venues that have hosted tests. Each session has a cap on entries, and the popular venues fill quickly once registration opens.

Eurotest dates for 2026/27

The 2026/27 calendar has not been published yet. Based on previous seasons, expect the French calendar in early autumn, registration for the first session to open in mid-October 2026, and the first tests to run in December 2026. We will update this page as dates are confirmed, so check back or get in touch and we will point you at the right session for your timeline.

How to enter

Entry requirements vary slightly by country, but the essentials are consistent: you need to be at least 16, hold the prerequisite stage of your instructor qualification, provide a medical certificate, and pay the session entry fee. You then register directly with the organising body for the country where you want to test, choose your session, and confirm your place before the closing date.

British instructors: you probably need the ISIA Speed Test

Since Brexit, entry to the CTT is tied to EU citizenship, which puts it out of reach for most British passport holders. BASI Level 4 candidates now sit the ISIA Speed Test instead, which fills the same role in the qualification. If that is you, the dates you want are on our ISIA Speed Test dates page, and our guide to BASI Level 4 and the ISIA Speed Test explains the change in full.

Training for the Eurotest

Whichever version of the test you face, the preparation is identical: volume in giant slalom gates on proper terrain, with coaching that fixes your line and turn shape. Our speed test training camps in Saas-Fee, Zinal and across the Alps train instructors for exactly this standard, and Eurotest candidates are welcome on every camp. If there is enough interest we will run a dedicated Eurotest camp ahead of the winter sessions, so if that is something you would join, register your interest and we will keep you posted.
